Lais Isabelle Alves dos Santos

I am a Deep Learning Researcher at the Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence (UAI) Lab in the Department of Computer Science of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). I work on a partnership project with Petrobras, Brazil's largest oil and gas company, where I develop multimodal transformer models under the supervision of Professors William R. Schwartz and Pedro O. S. Vaz de Melo.

I also work with a COVID-19 research project of deep learning models for time series, in collaboration with professors Flávio Figueiredo from UFMG and Michel F. C. Haddad from Queen Mary London.

Prior to this, I obtained my Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from Télécom Paris (IP Paris) in 2024, as part of my double-degree program alongside my Bachelor's degree in Control and Automation Engineering from UFMG, completed in 2025.

I am enthusiastic about computer vision, particularly in the areas of Generative AI and multimodal learning. I am especially excited by the rapid evolution of these areas and their potential to transform how intelligent systems perceive and interact with the world.

Naturally generate aged or rejuvenated faces in a controlled manner leveraging Latent Diffusion Models. The model preserves identity and incorporate aging factors for more realism and fidelity.
